DENBIGH FILM CLUB OPERATING UPDATE

The high demand for tickets to Mrs Harris Goes to Paris meant we had to turn away a significant number of people, including many members who were unable to get in.

We’ve discussed this and considered ways we could avoid this happening in future. The theatre only has 118 seats so we can’t guarantee that no-one will be disappointed again, but we hope these measures will help alleviate future disappointment.

We’ve decided the following:

  • Membership will be limited to 70. Members effectively pay half price and so we need the additional income from non members to allow us to continue. That income is what allows us to pay the licence fees for each film, theatre hire, refreshments and the purchase and maintenance of equipment.
  • Because so many members were unable to gain entry to the first showing of Mrs Harris Goes to Paris, we’ve decided that advance booking will be limited to members only.
  • If you’ve booked seats you MUST attend by 7.15 to collect your tickets.
  • If you haven’t arrived by 7.15, your tickets will be made available to non members and there will be no exceptions to the rule. If you arrive late and there are no non members, however, then you’ll still be able to collect your tickets.

We hope that everyone appreciates that the decision we’ve made is to try to avoid a repeat of what happened at Mrs Harris Goes to Paris and so ensure everyone continues to turn up and enjoy their evening out.
